Zoho and CRM
Zoho CRM or Bitrix24: which fits a company in Moldova
Bitrix24 is a complete digital office: chat, tasks, projects, CRM and websites in one application, at a fixed price per plan. Zoho CRM does one job, sales, but goes deeper; it is paid per user and connects to Zoho's email, invoicing and support apps. Which one suits you depends on what you need to fix first: how your team communicates, or how you sell.
Two different ideas of what a CRM is
In Moldova, Bitrix24 is probably the system you heard of first. It has plenty of local partners, a Russian interface and a free plan. Asking “why not Bitrix?” is perfectly reasonable, and the short answer is that sometimes Bitrix24 is the right choice.
The two systems start from different places.
Bitrix24 began as an intranet: a place where a team talks, shares out tasks and keeps its documents. The CRM is one of its modules, alongside chat, video calls, projects, a calendar, shared storage, a website builder and an online shop. You open the app and the whole office is on one screen.
Zoho CRM is only a CRM. Chat, email, invoicing, support and HR are separate Zoho apps that connect to each other through the same account. If you want all of them, they come together as Zoho One. If you only need sales, you pay only for the CRM.
Almost every difference below follows from that.
Features side by side
The table shows what you get in each. “Yes” means the feature exists; how well it fits your process only becomes clear in a trial.
| Feature | Bitrix24 | Zoho CRM |
|---|---|---|
| Leads, contacts, companies, deals | Yes | Yes |
| Multiple sales pipelines | Yes | Yes |
| Stage rules (what must be filled in, who approves) | Yes, through required fields per stage and automation | Yes, through Blueprint (a stage-by-stage process rule with approvals and mandatory actions) |
| No-code automation | Yes (robots and triggers) | Yes (workflow rules) |
| Custom scripts for special cases | Yes, in the self-hosted edition and through the API | Yes, in Deluge, Zoho's scripting language, directly in the account |
| Custom modules and fields | Yes | Yes |
| Team chat, video calls, tasks, projects | Built in | In separate Zoho apps (Cliq, Projects) or in Zoho One |
| Email on your company domain | Connects your existing mailbox | Connects your existing mailbox; Zoho Mail is Zoho's email app |
| Invoicing and accounting | Simple quotes and invoices in the CRM | Quotes and invoices in the CRM; full accounting is in Zoho Books |
| Website and online shop | Builder included | No; integrates with your existing website or shop |
| Telephony | Its own telephony plus integrations | Integrations with telecom operators and IP PBXs |
| Mobile apps | Yes | Yes |
| Hosting | Cloud or your own server | Cloud only |
In short: Bitrix24 gives you more tools from day one. Zoho CRM gives you more control over the sales process and grows through other apps, rather than through more modules packed into the same screen.
How you pay
Here even the pricing model is different.
Bitrix24 is priced per plan: a fixed monthly price for the whole account, with a maximum number of users on each plan. If you have 12 people and the plan covers up to 50, you pay the same price. Go over the limit and you move up a plan. There is also a free plan with limited features.
Zoho CRM is priced per user per month, and paying annually costs less than paying monthly. You pay only for the people who actually work in the CRM. Zoho also has a free edition, for up to three users.
What that means in practice:
- A small team, everyone in the system. 30 employees who all use chat and tasks: a fixed Bitrix24 plan usually works out cheaper than 30 CRM licences.
- Sales is one department. 30 employees, 8 of whom sell: with Zoho you pay for 8 CRM licences. Nobody else needs access.
- You want the whole office on one account. Compare Bitrix24 with Zoho One, not with Zoho CRM. Zoho One includes CRM, email, documents, support and HR, and has its own price, per employee or per user.
You can see Zoho prices on our subscriptions page. Bitrix24 prices are on the Bitrix24 website or from its partners. Compare the cost over 12 months for the number of people who will really use it, not the headline price.
Where your data lives
Since 23 August 2026, Moldova's Law No. 195/2024 on personal data protection, modelled on the GDPR, has applied. For a CRM, that comes down to three questions to put to any provider:
- In which country are the servers that hold your company's account?
- Will you sign a data processing agreement with the provider?
- Can you export all your data, at any time, in a format you can open without the provider?
Zoho CRM runs only in the cloud. Zoho has data centres in the European Union, and the account's region is chosen once, when the account is created. We choose it with you.
Bitrix24 comes in two versions: cloud, and a self-hosted edition installed on your own server. The second gives you full control over where your data is, but also the full burden of the server: updates, backups, security.
For what the law requires in your particular case, ask a lawyer. What we can tell you is where the data is stored and how to export it.
When Bitrix24 is the better choice
We say this in consultations too:
- Your main problem is team communication, not sales. Tasks get lost in Viber, and you need chat, tasks and projects in one place. The CRM is secondary.
- The whole company works in the system, and your headcount fits comfortably into a Bitrix24 plan.
- You need your own server for internal or contractual reasons, and you have someone to run it.
- Your team already works well in Bitrix24 and has no problem that Zoho would solve. Migrating without a reason costs time and patience.
When Zoho CRM is the better choice
- Your sales process has rules. A quote does not go out without an approved price, a deal cannot be closed without a signed contract attached, and every new client automatically triggers an onboarding task (first call, contract, access). Blueprint and workflow rules are built for exactly this.
- Sales is one part of the company, not all of it, and you want to pay only for the people who sell.
- You want sales, email, invoicing and support on one account, working from the same customer data. That is Zoho One.
- You need special logic that no setting covers. Deluge runs inside the account, with no separate server.
- You want connections to the tools you already use: telephony, WhatsApp, Telegram, Meta, Shopify. We build these as part of the implementation.

What matters more than the system
A good CRM can be abandoned after three months, while a simple one can be used every day for years. The difference almost always comes down to three things:
- The process is clear before anything is configured. Who can close a deal? When does a lead become a client? Who calls the client who has not paid? If the answers are not written down, no system will invent them.
- The data is cleaned before import. Three Excel files with the same clients spelled differently become three separate clients in the CRM.
- The team sees something in it for them, not only for the director. If a salesperson has to fill in 20 fields and gets nothing back, they will go back to Excel.
That is why, before we configure anything, we draw up a “Process map”: a single page showing the real stages of your sales process. You approve it, and only then do we choose the settings.
If you already work in Bitrix24
Moving to Zoho CRM happens in stages, without stopping sales.
| Moves across | Rebuilt in Zoho |
|---|---|
| Contacts and companies | Automation (Bitrix24 robots become workflow rules or Blueprint) |
| Leads and deals, with their stage and value | Business processes |
| History: comments, calls, activities | Reports and dashboards |
| Products from the CRM catalogue | Integrations with other systems |
| Attached files, where the export allows | User access rights |
Before launch, you run a test import and check a sample of clients you know well. For the full process, see our migration page.
Questions
Can I try Zoho CRM before paying?
Yes. Zoho CRM has a free trial and a free edition for up to three users. In a consultation, we show you your own pipeline rebuilt in Zoho, with your stages.
Is Zoho CRM available in Russian?
Yes. Each user picks their interface language in their own settings, so within one team some people can work in Russian and others in English. We run training in Romanian and Russian.
Can I keep chat and tasks in Bitrix24 and move only the CRM?
You can, but two systems holding the same clients means data that drifts apart over time. If you want chat and tasks next to your CRM, Zoho has Cliq and Projects, both included in Zoho One.
How long does a move from Bitrix24 take?
It depends on the volume of data, how many automations need rebuilding and how many integrations you have. We give you the timeline in our quote, once we have seen the export.
What happens to my data if I leave Zoho?
You export it. The Zoho account is in your company's name, and at handover you receive the “System dossier”: documentation, Deluge code and administrator access.
