Adobe Acrobat licences for working with PDFs
The Adobe Acrobat 2015, 2017 and 2020 versions in the shop are perpetual: you pay once, without the Acrobat subscription. The interface is in English.
Acrobat Standard covers everyday PDF work: you create PDFs from Word or Excel, edit text, combine files, add comments and signatures. Standard also recognises text in scanned documents. Acrobat Pro adds comparing two versions of a document, permanently removing sensitive information (redaction) and checking files for print and archiving (PDF/A, PDF/X).
Which edition suits you. Standard is enough for an office that prepares invoices and contracts as PDFs and sends them for signature, in accounts or sales, for instance. Pro makes sense for companies that compare successive drafts of the same contract or send documents where personal data must be hidden for good, such as law firms and procurement teams. Pro is also the choice for printers and for companies that hand documents over to an archive, where the file has to meet the PDF/A or PDF/X standard.
Platform. Acrobat Pro comes in Windows and macOS versions. Acrobat Standard runs on Windows only. The platform is also shown in each product's requirements table.
Adobe no longer releases updates for these versions. The exact date is on each product page.
