Perpetual Autodesk licences for design work
For years now Autodesk has sold only subscriptions. The licences in this category are perpetual: you pay once and use the version you bought with no end date. You don't get new versions, but you don't pay every year either.
We have AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT (2D drafting; LT without 3D and without automation), the industry toolsets (Architecture, Mechanical, MEP, Civil 3D, Plant 3D), Revit for building design (BIM), Inventor for 3D mechanical design, 3ds Max for rendering and animation, and Robot Structural Analysis and Advance Concrete for structures. The suites (Building, Product, Plant, Infrastructure Design Suite) bundle several programs into one licence; each suite's contents are on its own page.
For some products you choose the licence type. SLM (single-user licence) works on the computer it is installed on. NLM (network licence) sits on a licence server, and people take turns using it from any computer on the network.
The licence is transferred to your company's Autodesk account. Autodesk carries out the transfer, which is why we set the delivery time for each order and you see it in the quote, before you pay.

Questions about Autodesk
How can there be perpetual licences if Autodesk only sells subscriptions?
Autodesk stopped selling new perpetual licences in 2016. The licences here were bought as perpetual licences by their first owners. Versions released after 2016 come from perpetual licences upgraded under the maintenance contract the first owner had with Autodesk.
What do SLM and NLM mean?
SLM is the single-user licence: one computer. NLM is the network licence: it sits on a licence server and anyone on the network can use it, one at a time. NLM makes sense when several people use the program, but not at the same time.
How long does delivery take?
The licence moves to your company's Autodesk account, and Autodesk carries out the transfer. That's why we set the delivery time for each order and put it in the quote.
Can I move to a newer version later?
Not with the same licence. A perpetual licence stays on the version you bought. For the current version you need an Autodesk subscription, or a newer perpetual licence if we have one.
Does it work on a Mac?
AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT have macOS versions; the product page says whether the licence covers them. Revit, Inventor and 3ds Max run on Windows only.
