Office licences, paid for once
Perpetual Office means Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook installed on the computer and paid for once. The apps don't need a Microsoft 365 account and never come up for renewal.
Standard has the everyday apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, plus Publisher in some versions. Professional Plus adds Access (databases) and, depending on the version, Skype for Business or Teams. Home and Business is the retail edition (not volume), with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, for one computer; volume editions of Project and Visio won't install alongside it. The exact list of apps is on each product page.
The Standard and Professional Plus editions in the shop are volume licences, usually for one computer; a few Standard licences cover two devices, and the name says so. They also work on a Remote Desktop server, where several people take turns working in Office.
LTSC is the name Microsoft gives its newer perpetual versions: Office LTSC 2021 and Office LTSC 2024. For older versions, the product page shows how long they received updates from Microsoft. The licences stay valid after that date.

Questions about Office
Standard or Professional Plus?
If you only use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Standard is enough. Professional Plus is for Access, usually when the company has its own database built in it.
Office LTSC or Microsoft 365?
You pay for Office LTSC once and it stays on the version you bought. Microsoft 365 is a subscription: you pay monthly or yearly, get the new version automatically, plus email and cloud storage. We sell perpetual Office. If you want email on your company domain and shared files on a subscription, have a look at Zoho Workplace.
Does Office 2021 still get security updates?
Office LTSC 2021: extended support until 13 October 2026. Office 2016 and Office 2019: extended support ended on 14 October 2025. The licences stay valid after these dates. For long-term security updates, choose Office LTSC 2024.
Does Office work on a Remote Desktop server?
Yes, the Standard and Professional Plus volume editions. Every computer used to work in Office on the server needs its own licence.
Does it work on a Mac?
Only the products whose requirements table lists macOS under ‘Operating system’. The rest are for Windows.
